  • Book your cabin early! Colorado is a popular tourist destination, and our cabins are in high demand, so it’s important to book yours early to guarantee you get the cabin and days you want, especially if you’re traveling during peak season.
  • Pack layers to adjust to the changing weather. The weather in Colorado can change quickly, so it’s important to pack for all types of weather. This means packing a jacket, hat, or hoodie, even if you are visiting during the summer.

Pikes Peak

This Colorado icon offers stunning views of the surrounding area and Rocky Mountains. This mountain is the highest summit of the Southern Front Range of the Rockies, and the second-most visited mountain in the world. Named after explorer and mapmaker Zebulon Pike (also the namesake of our own Zeb’s Cabin), who first saw the peak in 1806. He wrote in his journal that the mountain was “the most magnificent sight I ever beheld”.

Pikes Peak was the focus of the 1858 gold rush to Colorado leading to thousands of people flocking to the area. Pikes Peak is one of the most iconic sites of the Colorado Springs area, and has been featured in many films and television shows. Pack a lunch and enjoy a full day exploring this gorgeous landscape.

Millions of people visit the mountain each year. The mountain can be explored by car, hiking, or taking the historic Cog Railway. The cog railway is the most popular way to reach the summit, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.

Garden of the Gods

This gorgeous park is home to towering red rock formations that have been sculpted by wind and water over millions of years. It is a popular tourist destination and is a great place to hike, bike, or rock climb. Garden of the Gods has been the top destination for breathtaking photography in Colorado Springs since the park opened to the public in 1906.

Popular features in Garden of the Gods include:

• • • Balanced Rock: Located close to the south entrance, this formation features a 700-ton boulder that seems to be precariously balanced on a smaller bounder. This natural piece of art is a popular spot for tourists and photographers.
    • The Three Graces: This narrow fountain fins formation features three towering rock formations named the three graces or three sisters after the three daughters of Zeus, Euphrosyne, Aglaia, and Thalia.
    • The Kissing Camels: The perfect stop for a romantic pic in the Garden of the Gods. Kissing Camels is located on the North end of the Garden of the Gods in the Perkins Central Garden. The opening in the red rock formation is easily identified as the two camel heads, making it one of the easier rock structures to identify.

Seven Falls

These cascading waterfalls are the tallest in Colorado Springs. Located in the South Cheyenne Canyon, the falls cascade down 181 feet through seven drops.  The Seven Falls are open to the public for tours and hiking. A visitors center directs you to either climb to the top of the falls or take the tram. From the top you are greeted with amazing views of the canyon. This hiking area offers scenic hiking space full of beautiful water, red rock formations, and splendid views. Another lesser known stop full of beautiful views and less crowds than your typical red rock park.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

While the Cliff Dwellings have been moved here from their original location for preservation purposes, the scenic views are still spectacular at Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and the museum is great for those interested in learning more about the history of the people and area.
